Profile
Yukiko Kuwayama is a lecturer at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo. She obtained her PhD in philosophy from the University of Hildesheim in Germany under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf Elberfeld and Prof. Dr. Lars Leeten. She continues her research on the (linguistic) phenomenology of feelings, emotions, and atmospheres, as well as in Japanese philosophy, with publications in German, French, English, and Japanese. She is a member of the Kobe Institute for Atmospheric Studies (KOIAS), co-responsible for the Groupe d’étude de philosophie japonaise, and an associate member of l’Institut Français de Recherche sur l’Asie de l’Est (IFRAE).
Research Interests
Philosophy, phenomenology of perceptions, feelings, emotions, moods, and atmospheres, East Asian philosophies, philosophies of the Kyoto School.
